Red Riding Hood - Lakeside Arts Centre

Its ideas stage - we are talking about an attic room setting and today I found this beautiful photograph which I find quite exciting. I love the colourings in the wood and the light through the window.

Drawing Fashion, Design Museum

This is a wonderful exhibition, really inspiring, especially the monotype prints.
I loved the work of Francois Berthoud, beautiful collaged images.

Frankenstein, National Theatre

I went and saw the much acclaimed Frankenstein last week at the National Theatre, directed by Danny Boyle. I have mixed feelings about the script and some of the acting but the design was stunning - most notably the 3000 light bulbs creating this extraordinary canopy.
Wow!

Flats East London

Walking east along the canal from Kings X to Victoria Park I spotted this derelict block of flats. The boarding up of each window shows a picture of the person who used to live there.

Set Build The Tempest RSC/LAT

Visited Stratford today to see the progress of the set. It is all coming together as I hoped thanks to the skills of the RSC workshop. Show starts rehearsals in London in just over a week.

Norman Rockwell Dulwich Picture Gallery

1st trip to Dulwich Picture Gallery today. The collection of paintings is incredibly varied and I particularly enjoyed the Norman Rockwell retrospective.
This one is his cover for the Evening Post on April 1st. I think there are over 50 April fools in the painting.
The game of Bridge was a favourite too.

Gauguin Tate Modern

Just managed to make the Gauguin exhibition in its final week. The collection is really overwhelming and charts his whole life. He was a master of colour, the yellow and flecks of red in this one are sublime.
