Its ideas stage - we are talking about an attic room setting and today I found this beautiful photograph which I find quite exciting. I love the colourings in the wood and the light through the window.
I went and saw the much acclaimed Frankenstein last week at the National Theatre, directed by Danny Boyle. I have mixed feelings about the script and some of the acting but the design was stunning - most notably the 3000 light bulbs creating this extraordinary canopy.
Walking east along the canal from Kings X to Victoria Park I spotted this derelict block of flats. The boarding up of each window shows a picture of the person who used to live there.
Visited Stratford today to see the progress of the set. It is all coming together as I hoped thanks to the skills of the RSC workshop. Show starts rehearsals in London in just over a week.
1st trip to Dulwich Picture Gallery today. The collection of paintings is incredibly varied and I particularly enjoyed the Norman Rockwell retrospective.
This one is his cover for the Evening Post on April 1st. I think there are over 50 April fools in the painting.
Just managed to make the Gauguin exhibition in its final week. The collection is really overwhelming and charts his whole life. He was a master of colour, the yellow and flecks of red in this one are sublime.
